"Your place, whether it’s a first home, family home, or work environment, is most comforting when it tells the story of your lifestyle and layers in cherished life memories and objects."

My mission

I offer creative direction, design, and styling with a focus on crafting spaces and products that tell a story and infuse sustainable and intentional selections.

With a background in product and interior design I blend my passion for volunteering and focus my efforts on ways design can offer a greater meaning and impact. It was through volunteering with my children that led to the idea of collaborating with non-profits to help them create products of their own. View a collaboration with the

HALO Foundation here.

Hi, I'm Julie Arnold, founder of PLACE Interiors. My background in Interiors, product design, and art has allowed me to engage in a variety of design endeavors. I received my formal design education in Boston and after a successful career in commercial design returned to the Midwest with my husband and children to be near our extended family.

My design approach is deeply rooted in creating meaningful Interiors that tell a story through a refined, natural aesthetic, often mixing in sustainable and vintage furniture and finishes.  Guiding inspiration comes from the simplicity of Scandinavian design, mid-century classics, nature and travel.

Creative endeavors have ranged from creating a line of hand-crafted greeting cards that were distributed nationally, a line of widely published commercial office furniture, and a line of organic garden seed kits that were sold through Anthropologie. While our three children were young I blogged about creative moments woven through everyday life at home with them, including, cooking, gardening, crafts, and volunteering.

Most recently, I've worked with the HALO Foundation, starting a program for homeless and at-risk youth to handcraft reclaimed wood serving trays and also launched limited edition Series of Art Collections that will benefit non-profits and socially minded organizations.
