Welcome guests this thanksgiving with a simple pressed leaf, hand lettered with words of welcome or gratitude.

We did this thankful bowl below last year and it was a simple way for the kids to express what they were thankful for. They explored outdoors, gathered a variety of leaves and we pressed them in magazines under heavier books (overnight is long enough) Take a white, brown, or metallic silver sharpie and let them write what they are thankful for.  Give them the productive, creative task of writing on leaves to lay at placesettings or have a pile of pressed leaves ready for guests to write on and gather them in a bowl as a centerpiece. Another idea is to collect branches and clip the pressed leaves with mini wooden clothespins and place in a decorative vase or pitcher.
