Here are 2 simple art activities to try with the kids:
PAINTING WITH MARBLES AND FLOWER PETAL PRESSED WINDOW ART.
PAINTING WITH MARBLES
construction paper (this time we cut out egg shapes and crosses)
tape
washable tempura paint
marbles
pan (we used this glass pan that I could easily wash out, but a plastic container would work well too.)
DIRECTIONS
Tape the paper shapes in the pan. Dip your marbles in paint. Set them anywhere on the paper or in the pan and start to slowly move the pan around so the paint filled marbles roll across the paper, adding as may layers of paint as you would like. We chose to do this one indoors, but the marbles can easily roll out of the pan so next time we may move this one outside. This one is so much fun for exploring abstract art and color mixing.
FLOWER PETAL PRESSED WINDOW ART
You will need:
Contact paper cut into a desired shape ( again, for this time we used egg shapes and crosses)
colorful flower petals
DIRECTIONS
Lay one shape cut out of contact paper with sticky side up. Press on the flower petals. Layer a second sheet on top of the floral design. Press and it’s ready to hang in the window.
Blessings to all this Holy week and Easter weekend!
